Viagra is a brand name for Generic Viagra (Sildenafil), a generic drug. It’s a PDE5 inhibitor (phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitor.

PDE5 is an enzyme that regulates certain chemicals in your blood, but it can make getting and keeping an erection difficult.

Erectile dysfunction is treated with Viagra (ED). It aids in the temporary maintenance of an erection so that you can have sex, but it does not cure ED.

It also has no effect on sexual desire. To get an erection, you still need mental or physical stimulation. Only a doctor’s prescription is required to obtain this medication.
