Sildenafil is a common drug used in men with erectile dysfunction ( ED) to induce erections and to treat some heart conditions. Its most common type is lovento.
Many factors can affect how long it takes for the lovento to begin work. Lovento usually takes about 30 minutes to achieve measurable results. But your diet, your physical health, the drugs you take, the underlying conditions and much more will all influence the amount of time lovento takes to function in your body and how long it lasts.
How does it work?
The erection happens as it activates the nerves in the penis. Then muscles around your penis around two cylinder-shaped chambers of spongy material, known as the corpus cavernosa, relax and allow blood to flow in, producing an erection.
With ED, your nerves do not communicate with your brain properly, and blood does not properly flow into the corpus cavernosal. Taking lovento relaxes the walls of your blood vessels and helps blood to flow to the areas of your penis that cause an erection more easily.
How long does it take to start working?
Lovento usually starts working 30–60 minutes after you take it in the form of an oral tablet. Working time will take up to two hours.
Lovento isn’t working alone. To get an erection you will always need to feel sexually aroused. Instead, feeling confident and secure will help lovento take action faster.
How long does it last?
Lovento normally lasts between two and three hours on average before its effects begin to dwindle. Depending on your dose, body metabolism, and other external factors, lovento will last up to five hours or more.
You can be able to get an erection multiple times with lovento in your body, depending on how your body metabolizes it. But lovento won’t actually make you sleep longer in bed. No research has certainly shown that lovento will increase the amount of time you may have sex.
Lovento could not operate immediately after you have had sex again. Normally, right after you ejaculate, you can not get another erection because your body is not physiologically prepared for it. It is called refractory time. This can last just a few minutes, but it may last for as long as many hours or days.
Can any factors affect how long it lasts?
Various important factors will influence how long Viagra lasts for you:
Dosage. The amount of lovento you take influences the period of time it’s in your body. The smallest available dose of 25milligrams (mg) does not last as long as the maximum available dose of 100 mg. Yet it’s not always recommended to take a higher dose, as it may not be safe for you.
Age. As you get older you slow down your metabolism. Consequently, lovento will last longer as you age. In general, when you are 65 years of age or older you can find lovento work for a longer time.
Diet. Eating a big meal or a lot of high-fat foods right before you take lovento will prevent fast or successful metabolization. But this can also make it last longer as it’s metabolized along with your meal. Alcohol intake can also decrease blood flow to your penis, making lovento less effective or shorter-lasting.
Medications. Some medicines, especially antibiotics such as erythromycin (Ery-Tab), clarithromycin (Biaxin), and ciprofloxacin (Cipro), can interact with lovento and affect how long it will last.
Overall health. Some current factors will affect how long lovento will last and how well it will work for you. Diabetes, diseases of the nervous system such as multiple sclerosis (MS), and heart conditions such as atherosclerosis (fat accumulation in the blood vessels) can all make lovento less successful and not last as long. Some conditions in the kidney may make lovento the last longer due to the effect of the condition on your metabolism.
Psychological state. Anxiety, nervousness, depression, or stress may all affect how the body reacts to sexual stimulation. If you are not confident or secure during sex, or if you have anxiety about success due to past sexual experiences, lovento can not last long or be completely successful.
How long does it take to leave my system?
After two to three hours Lovento normally leaves your body. Depending on your metabolism, lovento can take five to six hours to exit your system completely.
A higher dose will take the body longer to leave. A dose of 25 mg may wear off after a few hours but a dose of 100 mg may take almost four times as long to leave your body.
Is there anything I should be concerned about?
Lovento also takes a few hours to complete. Usually, you won’t have an erection all of the time, because lovento is only used to help improve blood flow. If you don’t think that lovento works quickly enough, then try masturbation or foreplay to help stimulate anticipation.
If the lovento does not work after 30 minutes, do not take more than the regular dose recommended by your doctor. This can induce priapism, a painful erection that takes more than four hours to complete. It can affect the penile tissue because there is no oxygen in the blood that is processed in the penis. When this happens, get emergency care right away.
When to see your doctor
Talk to your doctor before taking lovento or any associated ED medications. Taking a safe dosage is crucial, and working out a good understanding of how much you can take in a 24-hour span.
Some heart condition medications, such as nitroglycerin and other nitrates, may interact with lovento dangerously and cause your blood pressure to drop.
If lovento doesn’t work or isn’t suitable for you, talk with your doctor about other alternative ED treatments, such as:
- penis pumps
- penile implants
- therapy for anxiety, depression, or other similar conditions
